Day 1: Casablanca to Fes [295 km]

Your 9-day tour from Casablanca begins with a warm welcome at the airport, where you’ll be driven to Fes, a city renowned for its rich history and cultural heritage. As you travel through the fertile lands of Rabat and Meknes, take in the picturesque landscapes that set the stage for your journey. Upon arrival in Fes, check into your riad and rest for the night, preparing for the exploration ahead.

Day 2: Fes Sightseeing Tour with a Local Guide

The second day is dedicated to exploring the oldest city in Morocco, Fes, steeped in history and culture. After breakfast, you’ll embark on a guided tour starting with a visit to the Royal Palace Gate and the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), which dates back to the 14th century. Continue with visits to the world’s oldest university, Al Qaraouine, the vibrant Tanneries, and the revered Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. After a leisurely lunch, visit a local tiles cooperative and enjoy a panoramic view of the Medina. The day ends with an overnight stay at your riad or hotel.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert [470 km]

On the third day, you’ll journey from Fes to the captivating Merzouga Desert, passing through Morocco’s scenic landscapes. Your route takes you through Ifrane, a charming mountain village often referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco. Continue through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you may spot Barbary apes, and visit the Berber village of Azrou. As you pass through the dramatic Ziz Valley, the scenery gradually changes from lush greenery to desert vistas. Arriving in Merzouga, enjoy traditional mint tea before checking into your hotel or riad on the edge of the Sahara Desert for the night.

Day 4: Explore the Merzouga Area [80 km]

Day four is dedicated to exploring the wonders of the Merzouga Desert. After breakfast, embark on a 4×4 excursion to the Erg Chebbi dunes, visiting the Hassi Labied oasis to learn about traditional irrigation methods and the seasonal Sriji lake (if filled with water). Continue to Khamlia Village for rhythmic Gnawa music performed by descendants of African slaves. Your journey continues with a visit to the M’ifis mines and a nomadic Berber family. After lunch, enjoy a camel trek to witness the sunset, sandboarding, and a traditional Berber dinner under the stars in a desert camp.

Day 5: Merzouga Desert – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley [270 km]

On day five, wake up early to witness a magical sunrise over the desert, followed by a peaceful camel ride back to the village. After meeting your driver, continue to the Todra Gorge, famous for its towering cliffs and narrow gorges. As you pass through Rissani and Tinghir, you’ll be captivated by the natural beauty. After lunch, continue to the Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations and kasbahs. Overnight in a guesthouse overlooking the valley, with dinner and breakfast included.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech [330 km]

The sixth day of your tour takes you from the Dades Valley to the vibrant city of Marrakech. Begin with a scenic drive through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, with a stop at Kalaat Mgouna (Rose City) to visit a local cooperative and purchase rosewater. Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning example of Moroccan architecture. Afterward, cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass through the High Atlas Mountains, stopping at a women’s cooperative to learn about argan oil production. Finally, arrive in Marrakech, where you’ll check into your accommodation for the night.

Day 7: Marrakech Sightseeing with a Local Guide

Day seven is dedicated to exploring the vibrant city of Marrakech. After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of the city’s most iconic sites, including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian Tombs, and the Bahia Palace. After lunch near Djemaa el-Fna square, wander through the bustling souks and browse hundreds of stalls offering everything from spices to handicrafts. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore Marrakech at your leisure, visit the new town of Gueliz, or relax in a traditional hammam.

Day 8: Ourika Valley Day Trip from Marrakech [50 km]

After a day of exploration, return to Marrakech for your final night in your riad.

Day 9: Departure from Marrakech
