You will see many amazing locations in a short period of time during our 4-day tour from Fes to Merzouga. Starting in Fes, the tour first takes you to Ifrane, which is sometimes referred to as Morocco’s Switzerland, before continuing on to the tranquil Cedars Forest. You will travel down the breathtaking Ziz River after stopping for lunch in Midelt. Before arriving in Merzouga in the Sahara Desert, you will pass by the stunning Dades and Todra Gorges farther on the journey. You may ride camels, stay in an opulent desert camp in the center of the Erg Chebbi desert, and take in breathtaking sunrises and sunsets in the Merzouga desert. The Sahara Desert can be explored more thoroughly on a 4×4 excursion. You will also go to Erfoud, the fossil city, and Rissani’s traditional market. You will return to Fes at the end of the vacation with priceless memories of Morocco’s rich culture and varied scenery.

Day 1: Fes – Azrou – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga [467 km]
Begin your 4-day desert adventure with a pick-up from your hotel or riad in Fes. Journey south through the stunning landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Azrou and Ifrane, famously known as “Little Switzerland,” for its Alpine-like charm. Visit the cedar forest, home to the playful Barbary macaques, and capture memorable photos. After lunch, continue through the scenic Midelt region and the Ziz Valley, with its breathtaking palm-lined oases and dramatic gorges. Pass through Erfoud and Rissani before arriving in Merzouga, where you’ll be welcomed with traditional Moroccan tea and hospitality. Spend the night in a comfortable hotel or riad.
Day 2: Explore Merzouga Area [60 km]
Start your day with breakfast before exploring the cultural and natural wonders of the Merzouga region. Visit a local village inhabited by descendants of Mali’s indigenous people, known for their vibrant music and unique traditions. Discover the Miffis Mines and enjoy panoramic desert views behind the dunes. Meet nomadic Bedouin families and share a cup of tea in their tents. In the afternoon, learn camel-riding basics from local guides before embarking on an unforgettable trek through the Erg Chebbi dunes. Spend the night under the star-studded desert sky in a traditional Berber tent, complete with a delicious dinner and lively music around the campfire.
Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley [255 km]
Wake early to witness the spectacular sunrise over the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi, a mesmerizing display of shifting colors and shadows. After breakfast, journey to Tinghir and explore the breathtaking Todra Gorge, renowned for its sheer rock walls and serene riverbanks. Savor a traditional Berber lunch in the heart of the gorge. Continue through the scenic Dades Valley, famous for its dramatic rock formations and winding roads. Day 4: Dades Valley – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Fes [472 km]
