Take advantage of the stunning scenery of Morocco’s most popular places by joining our amazing 5-day journey from Marrakech to Fes across the greatest Morocco Sahara desert. We start our journey by traveling via the breathtaking Titic and Tikcha High Atlas Mountains and the historic fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. We then continue on to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s Ouallywood city, before spending the night in the Dades Valley. On the following day of our five-day desert excursion from Marrakech to Fes, we venture deep into the heart of the Erg Chebbi, a must-see destination in Morocco. You can see the stunning sunset over the dunes and ride camels here. We continue by visiting Nomad Berbers and touring desert regions, providing a unique perspective on their traditional way of life. We travel to the picturesque Midelt region, which is tucked away between the High Atlas and Middle Atlas mountain ranges. Finally, before wrapping off our desert journey in the city of Fes, we visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the old city of Meknes, which is well-known for its magnificent gates and lively Medina. An enriching combination of breathtaking scenery, cultural experiences, and historic places awaits you on your excursion.

Day 1: Marrakech to Dades Valley via Ait Ben Haddou (324 km)

Start your 5-day Marrakech to Fes desert adventure with a pick-up from our meeting location in Marrakech. We’ll travel through the Tizi n’Tichka pass, a 2,260-meter-high mountain pass offering breathtaking views. We’ll make our first stop around 1.5 hours in, where you can enjoy a coffee break and take in the panoramic scenery. Along the way, we’ll also visit an Argan oil cooperative to see the traditional production methods.

Next, we’ll head to the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a world-renowned site and popular filming location. After exploring the kasbah, we’ll continue our journey to Ouarzazate, often referred to as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Here, we’ll take a tour of the Atlas Studios, where blockbusters like *Game of Thrones* and *Prison Break* were filmed. After lunch, we’ll head to Dades Valley, where we’ll explore the beautiful Roses Valley before spending the night in the valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley to Merzouga Desert (249 km)

On the second day of your 5-day tour from Marrakech to Fes, we’ll head to the Todra Gorge, known for its towering 300-meter-high canyons, making it an ideal spot for climbing and photography. After exploring the gorges, we’ll travel through scenic Berber villages and stop for lunch in Tinjedad or Tourog.

After lunch, we’ll continue our journey to Merzouga Desert, arriving around 5 PM. A camel ride will be waiting to take us across the golden sand dunes, offering a chance to experience the beauty of the Sahara Desert. As the sun sets, we’ll reach our luxury desert camp, where a traditional dinner will be served under the stars, and we’ll enjoy a lively party around the fire for an unforgettable desert night.

Day 3: Exploring the Merzouga Desert (80 km)

Our third day is dedicated to exploring the culture and landscapes of the Merzouga Desert. We’ll start the day with a visit to a beautiful panoramic viewpoint to take in the desert vistas. Then, we’ll meet a local nomadic family for a cup of tea and learn about their unique lifestyle in the desert.

Next, we’ll visit Khamlia, home to the Gnawa community, where you’ll enjoy vibrant music and dance. Afterward, we’ll have lunch in Khamlia, sampling delicious Berber pizza. In the afternoon, the day concludes with a return to our hotel to relax and unwind.

Day 4: Merzouga to Midelt via Ziz Valley (264 km)

After breakfast, we’ll continue our journey to Midelt. On the way, we’ll pass through Rissani, known for its traditional market, and stop at Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops. We’ll then cross the stunning Ziz Valley, dotted with vast date palm groves, where we’ll stop to relax and enjoy a refreshing drink.

Next, we’ll visit Ait Chakr hill for panoramic views of the valley. By evening, we’ll arrive in Midelt, a charming town nestled between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas mountains, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 5: Midelt to Fes via Ifrane and Meknes (215 km)

On the final day of our 5-day desert tour, we’ll start by driving through the beautiful Cedar Forest, where we’ll stop for photos with the playful monkeys. After our scenic stop, we’ll head to Meknes, where we’ll visit the impressive Sahrij Souani, Lhdim Square, and the iconic Bab Mansour gate.

Next, we’ll visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site that showcases Morocco’s rich history. Our tour concludes in Fes, where you’ll be dropped off, marking the end of an incredible 5-day adventure filled with historical wonders, natural beauty, and cultural highlights.
